The app supports a realistic perception of time: Tasks are assigned default durations. I would for example often think certain things "only take 5 minutes".

 

Expanding the default duration of the task "Do Laundry" from 15 minutes to 25 is an example. App statistics of 2 months claimed, that the average duration of the task was 25 minutes. My estimation had been off.

 

Eventhough it's a simple daily task, it might occupy more time of your day. Correct time estimations play a crucial part in preventing overestimating personal ressources and ultimately burnout and depression.

A different kind of perspective

It also allows me to put things in perspective and remind me what is important by organizing tasks and goals by the life-values I set to follow. It can be perfectly combined with the Value-work from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

I can evaluate past behavior according to the statistics that the app provides according to the tasks I have finished, their duration or the goal that I have attached them to. And these are only examples. It is almost limitless.

The system is unlike any other I know. It is not based on fixed times, like a calendar, but instead it represents a 24-hour window, where you can add tasks and modify their duration as you go. It gives me the flexibility I need without distracting from what is important.
